Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Please join us Thursday, November 21, 2019 at noon for the annual Saint Jo Civic Center Community Thanksgiving Dinner.  The Civic Center will provide the turkey, ham, dressing, gravy, bread and drinks.  We ask that you bring your favorite side dishes (vegetables, salads, or deserts) to complete the meal.  Dinner will be served at noon.  For additional information, please contact Billie Grigsby at 940-995-2605.

Nativity Display FUMC

Nativity Display at First United Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome to come view hundreds of Nativity sets from all over. Refreshments will be served Saturday and Sunday. It's Time for Santa on the Square in Saint Jo!

This year's Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce "Santa on the Square" Celebration will be on Saturday, December 14, 2019 beginning at 2:00 pm. 

This year's celebration will include crafts for the children, a Live Manger, a 42 Tournament, and a Parade, as we anticipate Santa's arrival.

Here's the schedule of events:

In additional to our traditional pictures with Santa, we will also have FREE family photos at the event.  And of course, children shouldn't miss their "goody bag" after telling Santa exactly what's on their list. 

Merchants and building owners are decorating their windows to bring in the season, so come early and join the fun.  All crafts and food at the event are FREE!!

42 Tournament

Want to be play some 42?  Our 42 tournament will begin at 2:00 pm in the Stonewall Saloon Museum.  Entries are for individuals only (no teams).  Entry fee is $10 per person.  Prizes in addition to bragging rights are First Place $100.00 | Second Place $75.00 | Third Place $50.00.  To enter and receive a complete set of rules email the Chamber at  Or click here for rules: 42 Rules

Goodies, Treats and Entertainment

Christmas music will be playing from the gazebo. Gift bags for the children will be handed out by Santa himself and photographs will be taken. The Century Club will also provide hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies during the event. The Chamber invites everyone in Montague county and surrounding communities to attend.

Raffle Prize Drawings

A Ruger 10-22 with a black nylon stock and telescopic site (Valued at $250) and a Kitchen Aid tilt-head stand mixer (Valued at $400): for $10. Several gift baskets for $2 each or 6 for 10. You put the ticket in the box for the item you want. Tickets will be sold at First State Bank, Saint Jo ISD, City Hall, on Ladies Night and from 2:00 - 5:30 the day of the event on the square by the gazebo. 

Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunt begins at Davis & Blevins art gallery. It will be great fun for the family to hunt treasure around town.

Join the Parade! 

Entries for the parade will need to be submitted by December 11, 2019. Entries can be lighted or not lighted.  Entries will need to arrive no later than 3:30pm on December 14 in the vacant lot north of Leeton Phillips house.  Parade rules and regulations will be received when you turn in your entry.  The parade will begin at 4:30 pm.  Prizes for the Parade:  First Place $100.00 | Second Place $75.00 | Third Place $50.00. Saint Jo's July 4th Celebration

Saint Jo's July 4th Celebration

 Held Annually at Boggess Park

July 4th - Fourth of July Celebration and Old Jo's Firecracker 5K Run. The City of Saint Jo, the Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce and the Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department will once again sponsor a July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular Fireworks show at Boggess City Park, beginning at full dark, around 9pm. Live music, free watermelon and a concession stand begins at 6pm.

The Old Jo's Firecracker 5K Run will begin at 8am. Please go to,, or click here for the entry form and additional information.  

Pre-show entertainment will also start at 6pm with live music by Jarrod Flusche’s Band in the First State Bank Pavilion. The Chamber of Commerce will continue its tradition of free watermelon all evening. Hwy 82/287 Garage Sale

Chamber Meeting

Chamber Meeting - CHANGED!!

Our regularly scheduled Chamber meeting should be next Monday, April 8th - BUT we are busy getting ready for the Sporting Clay Event, so we have changed the meeting to Monday, APRIL 15th!  That's right TAX day. 

So please plan to join us for our meeting so we can tell you all about the Sporting Clay Event and how much fun that was!  The meetin starts at 6:30 at the Chamber building.  In addition, we will be discussing 4th of July plans, Old Jo's Firecracker 5K, and who knows what else.

Sporting Clay Event

The first ever Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce Sporting Clay Event is scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2019.  The event will be held at Willawalla Creek Shooting Center just south of Saint Jo at 650 Dye Cemetery Road.  Willawalla Creek Shooting Center has hosted US Olympic athletes as well as shooters from around the world and is a marvelous place to shoot clays.

The event will include 10 sporting clay stations and be comprised of 80 targets.  Check-in and an included catered lunch will be from 11:00 – 12:00.  The Sporting Clay event will run from 12:30 – 4:30 with awards between 4:30 and 5:30.

Teams will be comprised of 4 participants.  Team entry fee is $600.  Individual entries are $150 per person.  Station sponsorships are available for $1,000 and include registration for a team along with signage at the event.  All registrations will be due by March 1, 2019.

Primary sponsors for the event is provided by The Gun Shop in Saint Jo, Texas,  Zimmerer Kubota in Gainesville, Texas, and Coppell Construction in Saint Jo.

Proceeds from the event will be used by the Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce to continue their support to the Community and surrounding areas.  Over the last decade, the Chamber has contributed over $75,000 to the Saint Jo School District for scholarships and equipment, Saint Jo’s 4th of July celebration, Youth League, Preservation Society, the Montague County Child Welfare Board, along with other area organizations.
