The first ever Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce Sporting Clay Event is scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2019. The event will be held at Willawalla Creek Shooting Center just south of Saint Jo at 650 Dye Cemetery Road. Willawalla Creek Shooting Center has hosted US Olympic athletes as well as shooters from around the world and is a marvelous place to shoot clays.
The event will include 10 sporting clay stations and be comprised of 80 targets. Check-in and an included catered lunch will be from 11:00 – 12:00. The Sporting Clay event will run from 12:30 – 4:30 with awards between 4:30 and 5:30.
Teams will be comprised of 4 participants. Team entry fee is $600. Individual entries are $150 per person. Station sponsorships are available for $1,000 and include registration for a team along with signage at the event. All registrations will be due by March 1, 2019.
Primary sponsors for the event is provided by The Gun Shop in Saint Jo, Texas, Zimmerer Kubota in Gainesville, Texas, and Coppell Construction in Saint Jo.
Proceeds from the event will be used by the Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce to continue their support to the Community and surrounding areas. Over the last decade, the Chamber has contributed over $75,000 to the Saint Jo School District for scholarships and equipment, Saint Jo’s 4th of July celebration, Youth League, Preservation Society, the Montague County Child Welfare Board, along with other area organizations.

Held Annually at Boggess Park
July 4th - Fourth of July Celebration and Old Jo's Firecracker 5K Run. The City of Saint Jo, the Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce and the Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department will once again sponsor a July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular Fireworks show at Boggess City Park, beginning at full dark, around 9pm. Live music, free watermelon and a concession stand begins at 6pm.
The Old Jo's Firecracker 5K Run will begin at 8am. Please go to, getmeregistered.com, or click here for the entry form and additional information. Merchants on the Saint Jo Chisholm Trail Square will be open until 6pm.
Pre-show entertainment will also start at 6pm with live music in the First State Bank Pavilion. The Chamber of Commerce will continue its tradition of free watermelon all evening which will be served by the Montague County Child Welfare Board. Beginning at 6pm, the concession stand will have hot dogs, hamburgers and other refreshments for purchase.
The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor 17th annual July 4th Freeze-Off at 7:30pm. Teams of 1 to 4 people are invited to prepare homemade ice cream. The winners are chosen by popular vote and independent judges after tasting all the ice cream. Prizes are $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place and $25 for 3rd place. This year's Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce "Santa on the Square" Celebration will be on Saturday, December 14, 2019 beginning at 2:00 pm.
This year's celebration will include crafts for the children, a Live Manger, a 42 Tournament, and a Parade, as we anticipate Santa's arrival.

In additional to our traditional pictures with Santa, we will also have FREE family photos at the event. And of course, children shouldn't miss their "goody bag" after telling Santa exactly what's on their list.
Merchants and building owners are decorating their windows to bring in the season, so come early and join the fun. All crafts and food at the event are FREE!!
Want to be play some 42? Our 42 tournament will begin at 2:00 pm in the Stonewall Saloon Museum. Entries are for individuals only (no teams). Entry fee is $10 per person. Goodies, Treats and Entertainment
Christmas music will be playing from the gazebo. Gift bags for the children will be handed out by Santa himself and photographs will be taken. The Century Club will also provide hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies during the event. The Chamber invites everyone in Montague county and surrounding communities to attend.
Raffle Prize Drawings
A Ruger 10-22 with a black nylon stock and telescopic site (Valued at $250) and a Kitchen Aid tilt-head stand mixer (Valued at $400): for $10. Several gift baskets for $2 each or 6 for 10. You put the ticket in the box for the item you want. Tickets will be sold at First State Bank, Saint Jo ISD, City Hall, on Ladies Night and from 2:00 - 5:30 the day of the event on the square by the gazebo.
Scavenger Hunt begins at Davis & Blevins art gallery. It will be great fun for the family to hunt treasure around town.

Entries for the parade will need to be submitted by December 11, 2019. Entries can be lighted or not lighted. Entries will need to arrive no later than 3:30pm on December 14 in the vacant lot north of Leeton Phillips house. Parade rules and regulations will be received when you turn in your entry. This year’s 2019 annual Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce Banquet will be held on Tuesday, March 5th at the Lazy Heart Grill.

Chuck Middlekauff One-Man Show – “Pop Goes the West!”
One of our favorite contemporary Western artists will be here in the gallery November 3 from 1 to 6 p.m. Join us for refreshments, meet the artist, and enjoy the excitement of the West the way Chuck Middlekauff sees it. His pop-art-inspired paintings mingle the cowboys and the West with other fun icons from his 50’ & 60’s growing-up years as well as lots of visual surprises. Chuck’s paintings will hang in the gallery until December 31.
