December 6th - The Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the annual “Santa on the Square” program and Christmas Parade. This year’s event will include a lighted parade, a Chuck Wagon, goodie bags for the children, refreshments on the plaza, and a visit from Santa! The Saint Jo Elementary School Choir will be performing and local businesses on the square will be open.
The parade will begin at 6:00pm. This year's theme is "Have a Chisolm Trail". Entries for the parade will need to be submitted by December 1st. All entries must be lighted. Parade rules and regulations will be received when you turn in your entry. Prizes will be awarded: Grand Champion $150, Best Mechanical entry $100 and Best Horse drawn entry $100.
The Chamber is holding a drawing for over $2,000 in prizes that will be drawn at Santa on the Square. Tickets are $2.00 each or 6 tickets for $10.00. Tickets will be available at First State Bank, the Saint Jo City Hall, Saint Jo ISD administration office and at Santa on the square on December 6.

Saint Jo Century Club

Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce

Saint Jo Historical Preservation Society
The Historical Society was formed to promote an appreciation of the history and heritage of Saint Jo. This society appoints members to the Historic Preservation Advisory Board of the City of Saint Jo and works on several projects throughout the year. May 8th-9th - 58th Annual Saint Jo Rodeo. The Rodeo begins at 8:00 p.m. and is held at the Saint Jo Riding Club Rodeo Arena on Highway 82. Mutton Bustin will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the gate. Children 8 years old and under are free.
Saint Jo Rodeo is now partnered with Montague County Relay for Life during our rodeo in May. We will have a "Pink Out" on Friday night and a "Green Out" on Saturday night. Wear either color in support of cancer awareness on those designated nights!

2015 Saint Jo Rodeo Queen
Saint Jo Rodeo Queen's Contest is open to girls ages 13-21 who live within 100 miles of Saint Jo. The contest is based on 25% horsemanship, 25% appearance, 25% personality and 25% ticket sales. All girls are required to sell a minimum of 50 tickets. The new Rodeo Queen will receive a trophy trailer. Scholarships are awarded to 1st and 2nd runner up as well as many individual prizes.
2015 Saint Jo Junior Rodeo Queen
Open to young ladies 12 and under, this contest is also based equally on horsemanship, appearance, personality, and ticket sales. The Junior Rodeo Queen will receive a trophy saddle. Individual prizes will also be awarded for the winners of each division.
2015 Saint Jo Princess Contest
The princess contest, open to girls 8 and under from Montague and Cooke Counties. Girls do not have to own a horse or know how to ride a horse for this contest. This contest is based only on ticket sales.

July 4th - Fourth of July. The City of Saint Jo, the Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce and the Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department will once again sponsor a July 4th Fireworks show at Boggess City Park, beginning at full dark, around 9:00p.m. Live music, free watermelon and a concession stand begin at 6:00pm.
The Saint Jo Youth League will be sponsoring a 3 on 3 sand volleyball tournament, horseshoe pitching, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, and a coed softball tournament. You may sign up for any of these events at The Gas Station in Saint Jo, or by calling John Jones at 940-230-5981 or Christy Bennett at 940-284-5850.
The annual Old Jo's Firecracker 5K Run is not scheduled for 2014, but will be back again in 2015.
A patriotic children's parade will begin at 7:00pm. The parade will go from the town's square up Howell Street to the First National Bank pavilion in Boggess Park. Prizes will be awarded for the best patriotic costume and float. Contact Mindy Hobbs for more info at 940-531-8716. Games for children will begin at the park following the parade.
Pre-show entertainment will also start at 6:00pm with live music by Quick Draw. The Chamber of Commerce will continue its tradition of free watermelon which will be served by the Montague County Child Welfare Board. The concession stand will have hot dogs, hamburgers and other refreshments for purchase.
The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the thirteenth annual July 4th Freeze-Off at 7:30pm. Teams are invited to prepare homemade ice cream. The winners are chosen by popular vote and independent judges after tasting all the ice cream. The Freeze-Off grand prize of $150, second place award of $100 and third place award of $50 will be awarded to the Montague County non-profit youth group of the winning team's choice.
